About
Hüseyin Abdik (b. 1991, Istanbul, Türkiye) is a photographer and visual artist whose practice explores memory, identity, fear, and the psychological landscapes that shape contemporary life. Working between documentary and constructed image-making, he investigates the tension between lived experience and imagined realities through cinematic visual narratives.
Abdik's early work focused on documentary photography, including long-term projects examining minority communities and youth culture in Türkiye and the Middle East. More recently, his practice has shifted toward staged and conceptual photography, creating carefully orchestrated scenes that blur the boundaries between reality, memory, and fiction.
He completed the Creative Documentary Photography Program at Magnum Photos and SPEOS International Photography School in 2023. He is currently an MFA candidate in Visual Arts (Photography) at Columbia University in New York City.
His work has been exhibited in Türkiye and the United States and has been recognized through selections in international photography competitions and exhibitions.
